A meeting of the Berlin Board of Education was held in the Berlin High School library beginning at 6:00 p.m. Present for the meeting were Mitch Couture, Nicole Plourde, Nathan Morin, Brian Leclerc, John Moulis, Steve Michaud, Corinne Cascadden, Gary Bisson, Tim Forestall, Beverly Dupont, Ken Proulx, Jane Provencher, Melissa Wedge and members of the press.
MINUTES On a motion by Nicole Plourde, seconded by Nathan Morin, the Board voted to approve the minutes of the December 5, 2007 meeting, public session. The motion passed unanimously.
WARRANTS A motion was made by Nicole Plourde, seconded by Brian Leclerc, to approve the warrants dated December 10, and December 24, 2007 for the amounts of $16,556.25, $766.11, and $148,295.22 respectively. Questions on shared mileage reimbursement were answered. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
COMMENTS None
FY09 CALENDAR A motion was made by Nicole Plourde, seconded by Nathan Morin to table the approval of the FY09 School Year Calendar. The motion passed unanimously.
ASCD CONFERENCE Corinne Cascadden gave the Board a report on the Northeast ASCD Affiliate Conference she and Cheryl Pinette attended in Boston, MA on November 30 and December 1, 2007.
COMMENTS None
NEW BUSINESS Brian Leclerc gave praise to BHS Administration for the excellent job they did in hosting the Building Study Committee meetings.
NONPUBLIC On a motion by Brian Leclerc, seconded by Nathan Morin, the Board voted not to go
into Nonpublic Session. On a roll call vote, all members voted in the affirmative.
STAFFING On a motion by Brian Leclerc, seconded by Nathan Morin, the Board voted to accept the following staffing changes:

Dan MacKin – Individual Aide - BJHS
NOMINATIONS:
Melissa Rich – Individual Aide - Hillside
All nominations are contingent on the person passing a criminal record check. The motion passed unanimously.
ADJOURN On a motion by Nicole Plourde, seconded by Brian Leclerc, the Board voted to adjourn it’s meeting at 6:31 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.
